B-Tracking: Documented Transportation

Pneumatic tube system can play particular importance with emergency transfusions. In a few moments, blood bags can be transferred from the blood bank to the operating theatre, with the entire transport documented and monitored in real time. Laboratory staff always know when and by whom a blood bag was received, recording each blood bag via barcode scanner directly at the station. Each transport is recorded electronically, documented and can be analysed if required.

All stations through which blood components pass are monitored in real time, both in the clinical departments via handheld smart devices and by the blood bank.

Maximum security against unauthorized access

Sumetzberger pneumatic tube stations are equipped with access restrictions, providing maximum security and requiring identification via code or ID card (MIFARE®, SKIDATA, LEGIC® etc) and withdrawal protocol. Recipients are informed of the blood component’s arrival via a handheld smart device.

Maximum patient safety

Unique assignment of blood components before administration to the respective patient via barcode. Documentation of the vital functions and reactions of the patient during the administration of the blood components is also achieved via a handheld device.

Overhaul function of blood component transports

Blood components have priority in Sumetzberger's pneumatic tube system, providing direct emergency and standard transports, delivered to the required location in just a few moments. The empty, intelligent RFID carriers are then transported back to the hospital blood bank.
